These terms set out the basis on which The Good Walk (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides dog walking and related services to you (“the client”). By applying to join and using our service, you agree to these terms.
About us
The Good Walk is a private, by-application dog walking service based in Notting Hill, West London. We work with a deliberately limited number of dogs so that every client receives consistent, personal care.
Applying & membership
Joining is by application. After you submit your dog's profile, we arrange a meet & greet and a trial walk to ensure the fit is right for your dog, our pack and our standard. We may decline or end an arrangement where we feel it is not in the best interests of your dog, another dog in our care, or our walkers.
Our commitments
- To care for your dog attentively, safely and as if it were our own;
- To keep groups small and well-matched;
- To communicate clearly and provide updates as agreed;
- To hold appropriate insurance and follow responsible handling practices.
Your responsibilities
As a client, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete information about your dog, including any health conditions, medication, allergies or behavioural concerns;
- Keep your dog's vaccinations, flea and worming treatments up to date, and ensure your dog is fit to walk;
- Maintain suitable insurance for your dog where relevant, and ensure your dog wears a collar and ID tag as required by law;
- Provide safe, agreed access arrangements (such as keys) and inform us promptly of any changes to your dog's health or behaviour.
Keys & access
Where we hold keys, they are stored securely and never labelled with your address. Keys are used only to provide the agreed service and are returned to you on request when our arrangement ends.
Health, safety & emergencies
Your dog's wellbeing comes first. In the event of illness or injury, you authorise us to seek veterinary attention and to act in your dog's best interests if you cannot be reached. Reasonable veterinary costs incurred in an emergency are the client's responsibility. We reserve the right to keep a dog on the lead, or to decline a walk, where we judge it necessary for safety.
Payments
Fees are agreed with you directly and are payable in advance unless otherwise arranged. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
Cancellations & changes
We ask for reasonable notice of cancellations or changes so that we can plan our schedule and offer slots to others. Specific notice periods will be confirmed with you when your arrangement begins.
Liability & insurance
We carry public liability and care, custody & control insurance and take every reasonable precaution to keep your dog safe. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or harm arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided to us, from pre-existing conditions, or from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Privacy
We handle your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
